Thank You

OCAC would like to give a HUGE thank you to all the vendors, contributors, sponsors, runners/walkers, volunteers, and community. Without all of you, the 4th Annual CommUnity Block Party and 1st Annual 5K would not have been possible.  We are so thankful for all the support we have received for these events and hope to see everyone out there participating again next year.

Block Party Details

The CommUnity Block Party is an annual event designed to bring the community together for an afternoon of food, fun, music, games, and activities with the heart of Kutztown.  This year OCAC is going with a Vintage Carnival theme, think 1940's boardwalk!

The 2011 Block Party  will be featuring entertainment by the  The Fallen Troubadours.

New this year, the Off Campus Advisory Council in collaboration with KUBoK Neighborhood Watch, Kutztown University' Recreational Services, and the Borough of Kutztown, will be holding the 1st EVER 5K Race and Family Fun Walk in honor of Kyle Quinn, for whom KUBoK was created. The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 1st, 2011 at 10am starting within the 200 Block of Main Street.

Registration for the event will be taking place from now until April 15th. The participation fee for the race is $25 and $15 for the Family Fun Walk. All proceeds go toward KUBoK in support of this fund-raising event. On site registration will begin at 9am. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each age group and all participants will be automatically entered into a drawing that will take place at the 4th Annual CommUnity Block Party, beginning at noon.

For more information regarding the 5K, please contact Meghan Godorov at 610-683-1524 (OCAC) or Amanda Keith at 484-646-9070 (KUBoK).
Volunteers are needed for both events.
To volunteer, please email ocac@kutztown.edu for more information.

What is the Block Party like?
Last year's festival was a huge success, featuring over 60 vendors, a Taste-Off to showcase local businesses succulent dishes, numerous interactive activities such as roller hockey challenges, an inflatable moon bounce, rock climbing wall, children's activity corner , tie-dying, and face painting.

There was also music that appealed to all generations.  We had the Kutztown Middle school Jazz Band, Bob Sica, Jumbo Maverick, and student performers such as Lauren Cook and David Attillio.

Some vendors even offered tempting delights like pulled pork sandwiches, homemade waffles and ice cream, hot dogs and empanadas.
